Account Deletion
Delete Your FishFinderSA Account
This page explains how to request deletion of your FishFinderSA account and associated personal information. This is provided to meet Google Play and Apple App Store requirements and to support user privacy rights.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to Delete Your Account
Open the FishFinderSA app and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, then follow the prompts.
Email us at privacy@gofishfinder.co.za from your registered email address with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request".
What We Delete
When your deletion request is completed, we will permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize personal information associated with your account, which may include:
- → Account profile details (name, email, phone number if provided)
- → User-generated content linked to your account, where deletion is technically feasible and legally permitted
- → Fishing logs and catches linked to your account
- → Device identifiers linked to your account (where applicable)
What We May Retain
In limited cases, we may retain certain information where required by law or for legitimate compliance purposes. This may include:
- → Transaction and billing records (if applicable), for financial and tax compliance
- → Security logs where needed to prevent fraud or misuse
- → Records required to comply with legal obligations or enforce agreements
Any retained information will be protected and retained only for the minimum period required.
Processing Time and Verification
To protect your account, we may request identity verification before completing a deletion request. Deletion requests are typically processed within 7 to 14 business days.
